Yakone is the father of both Tarrlok and Amon. He’s always hated Amon and loved Tarrlok, due to Tarrlok being a bender and Amon not. Amon grew up with hatred to them both, as well as all benders and learned chi blocking to block them, and developed the ability to block bending. Taking down Korra is his political goal. Taking down Tarrlok is his personal revenge.
